Well, I for one think all headers look amazing and not grainy at all. I especially love the 6-fingered palm print in the 2nd Fringe header. *g* Took me a while to notice it but when I did it made me laugh. :)

No, unfortunately it would be an "either-or" option. :) Though I can try to integrate the calendar and tag list into the top as well. Might look a bit different (as in boxes on top of the layout) but worth a try.

Take a look at the site and let me know what you think. I haven't had a lot of time to play with anything. My computer is still out of commission - I have tons of content, including the bridge, so can pop it up to MU for you to have a look see. Actually, they also have a full working 30 trial version, and a free content pack as well. Very nice deal. DS is also integrated into Bryce, which was vital in creation of the original MYST game, once upon a time....
