Ha! New fandom!
After several weeks of absence (new contracts and whatnot), I found something to amuse myself while I have a supershort break.

OMG, the first this year! Never had a day off or was sick... huh, weird... anyway - a one-day-break and I made a new community:

You know the drill - join! Or get cookied!
Current Mood busy

While it's not too badly filmed, I couldn't get into the show. Richard is way too young, touched Kalhan (skin to skin) way too much, and what's with the dude they chose for Chase? Chase's blond for frak sake. Oh, and Darken Rahl is totally miscasted. He's not scary or freaky enough.

I liked Zed and Addie (except for the fact that Zed isn't funny enough).

I think I'm going to reread the books.

I'm completely with you on Darken. I was really disappointed with the choice cause there's no way he will get freaky. Ever.

The jury is still out on Richard and Kahlan cause I really love both actors. Maybe they will get into it.

But even if they don't, I'm probabyl going to watch it anyway. Most of the time I see books and the tv series as two seperates and watch the show no matter how horrible it is. ^^

I'll probably still give the series a couple of episodes to try and get me to like it. It wasn't that bad (my comment harsher than I origanlly intended XP), and it was not that far from the true story.

I know what bugs me with Darken Rhal, he's supposed to be fair and angelic looking (which so isn't the case), and I imagine quite taller than that man they casted. And the nose don't fit, that's a weird pet peeve, but I can't picture that nose belonging to darken rhal.

Anyway, they can't do as bad as merlin did, I didn't even manage to watch past the first 5 minutes (and I adore ASH, I do, but not enough to subject myself to this abomination they made).

I knew you mean well. =D

Darken Rhal is the absolute opposite from what I expected and does nothing for me. His demeanor is not creepy enough to fit his character/personality.

the nose don't fit, that's a weird pet peeve

I stumbled over it when I was looking for another movie. *g* And since I love it when they turn bookis into shows (no matter how different they will be), I couldn't resist. =D

Sisters in fandom!!! *huggles*

Ohh just got round to watching it yesterday, really enjoyed it as did my father woot. I just love that its so Kiwi, all the extras and and the scenery so pretty. Yaya
Good show too of course hehehe, i didn't even realise it was based on books very interesting. Woot anyways.

Kiwi productions are always awesome. :D Lovely locations, pretty people and great stories. *nods* And YAY for your father liking it! My mother isn't sure yet (she's not so much a fantasy/sci-fi fan *sigh).

Most of the time tv series that are based on books cannot measure up to them but I like them anyway. =D
Campmothacampmotha on November 6th, 2008 08:58 pm (UTC)
Oh your to kind about my country, it's so annoying that most of the locations they film are in the north island, i tend to think the south island is just as if not prettier than the north.
Yay indeed, but then he is usually gonna like anything i do, he kinda has to or else sit there bored while i watch it all the time, hehe. i have trained him well. Really? I hate it when people feel bound by genre or wont give something a try just because of a label its been given.

Yea i don't read so they are usually completely new to me so there is no worry about stuff measuring up for me. hehe.
Mercymercscilla on November 7th, 2008 03:41 pm (UTC)
Are there big difference between the two parts - nature-related, I mean? Germany is pretty much the same from north to south, though the south has more forests.

*lol* Mom is too energetic to sit still for a long time - unless she's tired or watching her favourite movies. =D

Books and the shows are two different seperates and so it's easy to like them both. *hehe*
Campmothacampmotha on November 7th, 2008 09:12 pm (UTC)
Ummm i dunno really i havent seen much of teh north island in terms of scenery, i mena i have been to auckland but i was stuck in the main street so didn't get to venture out and see the sites, i tend to think chch city is much nicer than auckland, I guess the main differences are in the flora and fauna, like my friends and i went over to the west coast early this year and it was crazy i thought i was in another country just cos of all the different colours and trees and, and during that trip there was so many different landscapes and stuff, its pretty cool.

Haha, yea no my dad has no energy after work so yea, my bro is more like your mum i think he won't still long enough for anything except heroes.

Oh good good, i just know many book readers are often dissappointed, but i am glad you can separate them,
