Woohoo!
Finally! *flops very un-ladylike on her couch* It's been one hell of a week. Last Friday the summer holidays started for my sisters and they decided to do everything at the same time *headdesk* like painting their rooms and planning a summer feast and taking a manga-drawing lessons. Of course, as their sister, it's my duty to help and accompany them... fun to no end. I still have blue paint in my hair and can't get this stoopid song out of my head (Shanadoo - King Kong *groans* it's stuck. Stuck, stuck, stuuuuuck >_<)

And to top it, our alien stepgrandma came to visit *starts ranting*. I still can't understand why grandpa married her. She is a bitch. Sorry to be so blunt but it's true. Every first week of the summer holidays she and grandpa come to visit for a few days. We love to see grandpa but we so can't stand her. The first thing she says when she sees us is either 'OMG you are fat' or 'OMG you way too skinny' *glares* she just won't leave us alone.

Like some day ago when Alex came over and she picked on him the second he stepped trhough the door. You see, the thing is, Alex is bi. I'm his only female best friend and Michael is only male best friend. We don't have thing together (which doesn't mean we have not thought about it *wink*) cause we are better off as friends.

Do I have a problem with Alex being bi? Nope. Does our dear stepgrandma got one? Sureyabetcha! Starts saying things like 'Ewww, that's so disgusting' and 'That's not normal' and 'How can you be friends with him' blablabla. I hate her. I completely hate her. She has no idea how great Alex is. He endures my fangirling and I love him the way he is. Would he suddenly stop being the way he is, I have no idea what I would do. Same goes for Michael.

If stepgrandma can't deal with that than she should keep her mouth shut. It's not her life. Damnit! It's mine and I'm very happy with it! /rant

Anyway, she's gone now for another few months till Christmas *sigh* oh what a joy... *grins*

And I can finally concentrate on my many, many shows that I neglected the last couple of days. Which reminds me:

I noticed something that is in nearly every show I watched so far. I esp noticed it in L&O: SVU and Stargate. I took the very first episodes from both shows and compared them to the newer ones. In both shows I get the feeling that the earlier episodes are... lighter. It's difficult to describe.

In one of the SVU episodes are at least five jokes flying around while in the last ones (7 season), they are dead serious. More grown-up. Not so much kidding around.

Sure, the humour is in Stargate still there but the overall theme is more serious. The characters have developed and got a little rough around the edges. Not that I mind ^-^

Whereas the first seasons of Stargate: Atlantis and Doctor Who are again more lighter but unlike the shows mentioned above, they have an underlying dark theme from the beginning.

Maybe I interpret too much into this *shrugs* but you know my crazy brain-wires *grins*

Which again reminds me of... WELCOME to all the new friends I made recently *grouphug* Grab a cookie and make yourself comfortable *hands out sweets, muffins and cookies*

So, gotta go. Have to get my pizza before the game starts... *flails*

And have you noticed that there's a "Jack" in almost every show? o.O

It's up there with John too.

Jack, John, Johnny, Jackson, Jackie, Jacky, Jonathan... it's like an unwritten rule to use at least one of these names *shakes head*

Hence, whenever I get the scripts done, I'll break the mold. ;)

*huggles* Grandparents are old and don't understand things. Though that doesn't excuse the younger people who act the same way...O.o

*hugs*

I think some people from the "olden" days don't get "nowdays", and they refuse to accept it.

Stargate has gotten darker, and I love to see it now and then. Atlantis could get a bit darker in my opinion but hey, it adds to my Sheppard rant and the man is my fav character because of his potential.

Hey with the whole light to dark thing, there's also Farscape. There's even a John too of course *grin*

I have an aunt who can be a bitch and its terrible when I have to see her, grrr relatives, can't get rid of 'em.
And you are totally right about the whole lightness/darkness about the shows. It's probably why I like Atlantis better than Stargate, I much prefer a darker show. And Doctor Who omg, for a show that can be completely crazy it certainly does have very dark moments ;)
*takes a cookie*

There's like a Sheppard (in one variation or another) in half the shows on TV too. It's just weird! Guess John, Jack and Sheppard are just popular or something. Either that, or there's a serious lack in creativity :P
