And the whole web stick thing is stumbling along as it goes with an upload/download speed of around 30 kbps. If it's working at all. *facepalm*

Now that I want to be more online, I can't. I am so tempted to headslap someone. Soon.

Ah, office work calls. At least that is not failing me. =D

Thursday night some workers cut the cables in the neighborhood... from one moment to the other we had no tv and internet. *headdesk*

Two days (until around 11am this morning) we were ALL ALONE! *snickers* My brother was cut off in the middle of a Very Important Game and nearly died from the headbanging. =D

I couldn't post the new emoticon calendar days (*sulks*)! That's so not funny. :(

So. I'm back.

I have not been abducted by aliens (neither Goaul'd nor Cylons), I have not been send on a super-sekrit mission (im)possible by the government and I have alos not eaten my notebook. I only took a 'lil bit. Honestly.

What I have been doing since April is: Taking care of a member of my family, being the only one there for my sisters in this really bad time and working overtime to get my brother ready for his studies.

Real Life sucked me in and did not spit me out.

And to top it: My notebook decided it does not like any browsers anymore. Everything else worked fine (last.fm, updates, etc.) but since I hadn't alot of time anyway, it didn't irked me as much as I thought.

I got a new one yesterday. Hee. ^^ The whole new Windows Vista thing is a bit weird but I'm getting used to it. *pokes*

A lot to catch up but much better than the last three and a half months. :D

You know what's absolutely megafreakyfabublous?

When, on a rainy Saturday, you have everything prepared for a long computer-session (hot chocolate, yummy cookies and nifty blanket), you switch your laptop on, get the funky music out and..

BAM, your internet has gone AWOL. No connection, nada, zip, zilch, zero, null.

THAT sucks. Had to wait 24 hours until the mobile company found the glitch. Idiots. *phew*

Please excuse me, while I'm going to headdesk, faceplam and scream into my pillow. Thank you.

So, I've made myself a new layout plus a matching user info. Go me!

Because yesterday totally sucked (from the point of my folks' bad planning and whatsnot) and the only really good thing was the movie "Speed" that mom and I watched. I luff my Sandra and Keanu. ^^

Anyway, today I coded my fingers off and am dead tired now. Partly from yesterday but mostly from cursing my stoopid Photoshop that gave me wrong color names the whole. FREAKING. TIME! O_o

Finally managed to tweak the names and hopefully it looks somewhat nice. :D

Sorry if I wasn't around much this weekend - I promised to try and be online weekends since during the week it's nearly impossible - but it was just a really bad case of really weird things falling in my way and making me flail... Next weekend will be different. *nods*

Remember when...?

A computer was something on TV from a science fiction show. A window was something you hated to clean and RAM was the cousin of a goat...

Meg was the name of my girlfriend and gig was your middle finger upright. Now they all mean different things and that really mega bytes.

An application was for employment. A program was a TV show. A cursor used profanity. A keyboard was a piano.

Memory was something that you lost with age. A CD was a bank account. And if you had a 3 1/2" floppy you hoped that nobody found out.

Compress was something you did to the garbage not something you did to a file. And if you unzipped anything in public you'd be in jail for awhile.

Log on was adding wood to the fire. Hard drive was a long trip on the road. A mouse pad was where a mouse lived and a backup happened to your commode.

Cut you did with a pocket knife. Paste you did with glue. A web was a spider's home and a virus was the flu.

I guess I'll stick to my pad and paper and the memory in my head. I hear nobody's been killed in a computer crash but when it happens they wish they were dead!

OMG, I'm still alive! Whatever you think "alive" means... *grins*

But honestly, since last Friday RL was just icky. From Friday afternoon until Monday around 7am, we were doing what we call teh Spring-Clean-Up.

Which I HATE! Cause it means cleaning non-stop for three days, little sleep (three hours alltogether - a new record. *woohoo*) and suddenly you have muscles!

It wouldn't have been so bad if we hadn't been only three people for 380qm... I'm still all sleep-wacko. *sigh*

And then yesterday was my first official day at our office. It's really way better to work at your parents' company than somewhere else. Mom is all hyper and Dad hands out chocolate. *lol*

Even though it's busy and difficult sometimes, I love the job. ^^ (Right now from 10am until 4pm.)

The only thing that sucks it the stupid software we have which is absolutely useless for us. We need something specific but the guy who installed it, said it would work for us too. Haha. It doesn't. Gah.

The computer is great (1440x900) except that I have to tweak the w-lan connection to access the net. *whistles innocently*

LJ has to wait until the evening. *sulks* *clings to f'list*

P.S.: And my long sentences went AWOL again. *wibbles*

P.P.S.: I'm totally hooked on The Hitcher. Stupid bro of mine. All his fault. Well, maybe the great songs used in this bad remake have something to do with it too. *squeals*
